It doesn’t take a weatherman to find perfect Great Lakes kite-flying conditions. This interactive map lets you know exactly what to expect.
Windfinder integrates wind and wave data from weather stations into maps for surfers, sailors and kite flyers around the world. The Web site has data for at least a 100 Great Lakes locations. Colored arrows show wind direction and strength; click them for forecasts.
Win a Monday Mashup prize
Win a prize if you’re the first to suggest or create a Great Lakes mashup used on Echo’s Monday Mashup. What’s the prize? Well, a Great Lakes cruise is not in the Echo budget. But we’ve got stress balls shaped like polar bears and bats (stress bats?), pocket knives, mini-backpacks, flashlights, water bottles and other items of similar fine value lying around the Echo Chamber. We’ll send you something AND publicly acknowledge your contribution in MONDAY MASHUP. Send it to Monday Mashups editor Rachael Gleason at GreatLakesEcho@gmail.com.
