A heavy snow and ice storm blanketed signs that spring finally arrived in parts of Wisconsin, Michigan and Quebec.
The icy conditions left more than 8,200 Milwaukee area residents without power Thursday, but it offered a rare opportunity to photograph the same ice-glazed branches that caused most outages.
When the morning rain transitioned into snow, the weight began to pull branches to the ground, said Maggie Szpot of Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
Some of those branches (and trees) brought power lines down with them.
Szpot lost power, but she took advantage of the rare spring event to submit photos for Echo’s latest Photo Friday.
