Windmill Lake Wake and Eco Park, outside of Bayfield, Ontario, offers an opportunity for people to try new outdoor activities or improve their skills. The park includes wakeboard, paddleboard and kayak rentals for both beginner and experienced visitors.
Two cables pull wakeboard riders through the water in a beginner or advanced section. The system is run off of electricity rather than a motorized boat, eliminating the chance of contaminants such as motor oil spilling into the water.
Staff of the park teach visitors about the ecological values of the area while using environmentally sustainable practices. Going plastic free and using no motorized vehicles creates a glimpse into the future of sustainability.
