Strong El Nino will influence Great Lakes water levels

A winter warmer than the past two caused by this year’s strong El Nino weather system above the Pacific will increase evaporation of the Great Lakes.

And precipitation will drop, experts say.

But many other factors also influence the levels of the Great Lakes. And that makes them hard to predict.
