This week’s expert is Karen Noyes, chair of the remedial advisory committee for this site.
Summary of the area:
- Listed as an Area of Concern in 1985 because of pollution from polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxin, phosphorous and other contaminants.
- There are still fish and wildlife advisories in place, despite delisting.
- The only U.S. Area of Concern to be officially delisted.
