We’re looking for the best of the best Great Lakes videos on the web. And you can help. Send us a nomination and explain why it is worthy of recognition. The Great Lakes Echo staff will narrow the nominees to 10. Then we’ll ask readers to vote on their favorite of the finalists.
It’s sort of like American Idol, but wetter.
The first to nominate each of the top 10 will receive valuable bragging rights and a prize. The bragging rights will have the greater value, but we’ll find something around the Echo Chamber to send your way and recognize the effort. And we’ll find something extra for the ultimate winner.
Some rules:
- It must be a web video.
- It must feature a Great Lake.
- You can (and should) nominate something that you did not produce. It’s the nominator who gets the recognition. But you can (and should) nominate your own work – especially if no one else will.
- There are no amateur or professional divisions – everyone gets the same shot at fame.
- If more than one person nominates the same video, the first to nominate gets the credit.
- Nominations must be submitted by midnight Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009. Put Viewers Choice in the subject line of an e-mail and send to greatlakesecho@gmail.com. Include a link to the video, your rationale, your name and the best way to reach you.
Be creative. Think education, recreation, environment. Shorter is (almost) always better. We’re less than thrilled to view a three-hour travelogue of your vacation. But we’re pretty flexible.
After all, this example stars Wally Waterdrop in a video about sewage treatment.
