Three outdoor groups are launching a short video every two weeks to bring attention to the potential Asian carp invasion of the Great Lake.

The productions highlight businesses and individuals worried about the economic, recreational, environmental and cultural losses that the fish could cause, according to a recent announcement by Michigan United Conservation Clubs, the National Wildlife Federation and the Prairie Rivers Network.

A draft report by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers showing options for stopping the invasive species’ advance below the Chicago Area Waterway System awaits administrative approval for release, the groups said.

Meanwhile, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder is launching a contest with a cash prize to anyone who can come up with a strategy for keeping the fish away.

The videos will be hosted on the National Wildlife Federation Great Lakes Regional Office’s YouTube channel and its Facebook page.
