MSU researcher updates fight against ash borer

The emerald ash borer has killed acres of ash trees across Michigan since 2002.  However, research suggest the invasive beetle from Asia may have arrived in Michigan even earlier.

Deborah McCullough has a joint appointment in Entomology and Forestry at Michigan State University. She says the emerald ash borer was probably introduced from China, in solid wood packing materials used in containerized shipping.
