The supporters of Fisherman’s Landing are getting the word out to help Kathy Evans and planners at WMRDC by asking the West Michigan fishing/boating/camping community to volunteer in the information gathering process for the Lake Michigan Water Trail . Kathy Evans the environmental program manager and Erin Kuhn, economic development program manager for West Michigan Shoreline Regional Development Commission, and Howard Meyerson all know all about what a great vibrant ‘tourism and economic ‘placemaking’ destination Fisherman’s Landing was for the “Muskegon River Voyage of Discovery” event. The kayakers and paddlers of the Lake Michigan Water Trail have at Fisherman’s Landing what they need for camping, showers, as well as a pavilion for their larger group events. Kathy and Erin also know about the GLFT grant that was submitted last year, and now they have the perfect timing opportunity to resubmit that grant online at http://www.glft.org due by Friday, August 23, 2013. That GLFT grant would upgrade the Greenways Trail lakeshore trail head and restroom/picnic area to connect directly to this great Lake Michigan Water Trail! Wow! That is fantastic for Muskegon ‘placemaking’ as the greatest Lake Michigan Water Trail and Greenways Trail system junction connection for the ‘Pure Michigan’ tourism promotion! You are right Harold. There are city Muskegon politicians, West Michigan politicians, and area planning-promotional agencies working together to steal the Fisherman’s Landing public trust protected LWCF property on Muskegon Lake for their port developers and campaign contributors. Of course this can only move forward with the help of corrupt politicians and Governor Snyder.
