WhadayaKnow? Why should we recycle?
By Marty Deskovich and Marites Woodbury
Every Monday Great Lakes Echo runs video clips of random people answering questions that experts believe environmentally literate citizens should understand. In the last clip an expert explains the correct answers.
This week’s question is “Why should we recycle?”
This week’s expert is James Ives, director of Recyclemania at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich.
RecycleMania is an annual eight-week recycling competition between more than 600 colleges and universities across the United States.

Glad to se GL Echo cover recycling and other waste related topics. Additional information can be found at the Department of Environmental Quality recycling website http://www.michigan.gov/deq/0,1607,7-135-3585_4130—,00.html and the Michigan Recycling Calition website http://www.michiganrecycles.org

…Oh, and Jason Rydberg, you are correct there is a better way to deal with old laptops other than piling them up at home. You can recycle them for free at Goodwill, Best Buy, or take them to the RecycleRama on April 14th http://www.michiganenergyoptions.org/images/PDFs/recyclerama2012.pdf
