David Foote, who submitted these images, has a house in the Skerryvore community along the Georgian Bay, south of Pointe au Baril, Ontario and North of Parry Sound. The following pictures were taken in late October around the Skerryvore community. According to Foote, the area will match record water level lows set in 1964, by mid November. This is just fantastic! I grew up on an island in the mouth of the Shawanaga River, fished the river, hunted and fished the back bays on the way to Skerryvore and portaged over the beaver dams on the way to “Lost Lake”. Art Kennedy helped his dad at CC Kennedy’s at The Point and the Evoys ran the post office. Old Steve’s Taxi and Woodward Marina were permanent fixtures in Pointe au Baril Ste.
