Great Lakes restoration money opens for projects on Friday

(MI) The Mudpuppy – The U.S. government will begin taking proposals on Friday, Nov. 20, for funding from a $475 million Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.

Those interested, like a group of Saginaw Bay leaders, will have two months to submit a plan, according to HealthyLakes.org, which helped push the initiative through Congress.

The organization, known as The Healing Our Waters Great Lakes Coalition, represents more than 100 groups in the Great Lakes region. More
