Forbes: Detroit 2nd most toxic metro

(MI) Detroit Free Press - According to Forbes, the Detroit area is the second most toxic metropolitan area in the United States. The only city deemed more toxic was Atlanta. Las Vegas was tapped as the least toxic.

The magazine used four metrics to rank the nation’s Top 40 metropolitan areas in toxicity: the number of uncontrolled hazardous waste sites, number of facilities releasing toxic chemicals, pounds of toxic chemicals released and a 2007 air quality ranking. More
